The Handmade Bakery is looking for a part-time, 

Temporary Cafe Co-op Member

To cover maternity leave.

Hours: Part time, 16+ hrs/week, weekend hours included

Pay: 8.50/per hour

The Handmade Bakery is a community supported artisan bakery and café in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire that operates as a worker co-operative.

The bakery produces traditionally crafted bread and patisserie that is slow fermented, using ethical, organic and local ingredients with no improvers or preservatives.

Our café serves a contemporary range of open salads, soups and oven baked products following traditional and sustainable production methods. We have a loyal customer base and a reputation for excellence and are looking for someone to help us to support and build on this. We are now looking for an individual to cover maternity leave for one of our café co-op members.  As an equal member of the co-operative you will have a shared responsibility of the full operations of the café and your duties will include administrative and managerial tasks as well as working in the kitchen and serving customers. 

Professional experience of working in a café or restaurant environment is required and experience of managing a café is an advantage. We are looking for someone with a passion for real food and building sustainable lifestyles. Affinity for co-operative working is essential along with energy and enthusiasm.

The working hours include weekends and some flexibility is expected.
